Percy is a dog who simply refuses to let the past hold him back. His story started as a stray on the streets of Martin, TN, until he literally chose his own path by following foster mom’s oldest daughter home while she was on a run. When the local shelter became overcrowded, Proverbs 12:10 Animal Rescue stepped in with open arms, and his foster mom drove two hours to pull him to safety.
During his initial veterinary intake, we discovered Percy had survived some incredible hardships—including an old fracture that luckily healed on its own, and evidence of being shot at. He was also heartworm positive, but Percy is a fighter! He has officially completed his heartworm treatment with flying colors. Due to his past trauma, he is deathly afraid of gunshots and fireworks.
