Sammie is a neutered 7-year-old, 9-pound long-haired Chihuahua with so much love to give and a heartbreaking story to tell.
In July, Sammie’s elderly owner, who was experiencing housing instability, was rushed to the hospital by ambulance. Because her dogs were with her at the time, they were taken to a nearby rescue to wait for her to be able to pick them up. Unfortunately, Sammie escaped from a dog walker at the rescue and spent 19 days lost on the streets of Knoxville.
