Calvin’s story with Smelly Cat Rescue actually began back in 2022, when he was just about 8 weeks old.



His mama brought him to the back door of a home in Lake Saint Louis, and it quickly became clear that there was something a little different about this tiny guy. Calvin was showing signs of neurological challenges, and we eventually learned he has Cerebellar Hypoplasia, or CH.



CH affects Calvin’s balance and coordination, giving him his signature wobbly walk. It doesn’t cause him pain, and Calvin doesn’t know he’s any different. He’s simply figured out his own way of navigating the world.



Back then, we knew him as Rudy. He was adopted, grew up, and spent the next few years with the family he loved. Unfortunately, his family recently fell on hard times and had to move into temporary housing that doesn’t allow cats. Through no fault of his own, Calvin found himself bac...
