Delilah is another one of those puppies whose life started with a parking lot giveaway. She was advertised as an “Anatolian Shepherd mix,” but we can confidently say there isn’t much Anatolian in this beautiful girl. At 10 months old and 50 pounds, Delilah appears to be more of a Lab/Heeler mix with a heart full of love and potential.
What breaks our hearts isn’t where she came from—it’s how she’s been living.
For most of her young life, Delilah has spent nearly 20 hours a day confined to a large crate in an apartment. Not because she’s a bad dog. Not because she’s destructive. Simply because life circumstances left her with very little opportunity to be a puppy.
At an age when she should be running, exploring, playing, learning, and discovering the world, Delilah has mostly been watching life pass by from behind crate bars.
