Momma Tortilla

I’m Momma Tortilla. I’m almost five years old, and I’ve learned to move carefully through the world.

I came from a situation where things were crowded and uncertain, and at one point I ended up outside in a crate with my kittens. They’ve all gone on to find their homes now. I’m still here, waiting for mine after nearly four years.

I can be shy when I first meet new people. I prefer to watch, to assess, and to make sure I understand what’s going on before I decide it’s safe. I don’t rush trust, but I don’t refuse it either.

Once I feel secure, I soften. I may act like I’m not sure about you at first, but if you’re gentle and patient, I’ll accept pets and attention and quietly realize it’s something I’ve been needing.

I do best in a calm home where things are predictable and kind. I don’t need much, just time, space, and someone willing to let me adjust at my own pace without pushing me past my comfort zone. I'm not mean, just nervous. I won't even his...
