Marie in GA - A Special "Pocket Pyr"!

Meet Marie, a beautiful example of the classic Great Pyrenees look shrunk down into a "Pocket Pyr" package. Marie came to rescue after being found chained to a house in Alabama, and that hard start has left her with a fear of people. It takes patience to earn her trust - approaching slowly, bending down, hands out, and speaking in a soft voice - but once she settles, she melts into pets and hugs and clearly craves connection. She isn't yet socialized enough for formal obedience training, but she knows "go outside," "go potty," and "come.” She's a low-activity girl who prefers being indoors, doesn't bark, and doesn't dig. That said, she would love a secure, 5-foot fenced yard to enjoy with a doggie friend.

Marie gets along fine with cats and currently shares her foster home with 2 dogs - a 5-pound Shih Tzu and a 100-pound male Great Pyrenees, doing wonderfully with both....
