Gazan is amazing if you have the time to give him to trust you before you put any pressure on him. He doesn't trust people too quickly but it seems that once you bond with him, it's a pretty solid relationship. It took me 2 weeks to get to that point and it took my husband 3 weeks to get there with him. He does have a bite record. He bit his previous owner who stuck his arm through a pool fence to pet him while he was eating and Gazan got his hand. That is strange to think of him doing that because he seems very relaxed when he is eating, I have walked around him closely and picked up the water bowl to refill it that was right next to his food bowl, and he didn't do anything, not even a growl or shift his weight or anything. I know that there were young teens in his original home and he did fine with them. He is a ball freak and you have to be willing to throw his ball for him, a lot.
