Ducky

I’m Ducky, and at five years old, I’m still learning that life indoors can be a pretty wonderful thing.

I was adopted as an indoor-only cat, but unfortunately my owner eventually put me outside. The fleas out there had an absolute feast, and my flea allergy triggered a severe inflammatory reaction. I groomed myself so much that I lost most of my fur and ended up in pretty rough shape and was picked up by ACS.

Thankfully, I’m safe indoors again, and I’m much more comfortable now. I still have some anxiety and tend to overgroom my coat, but I’m making progress. I just don't want to be abandoned again. I’ve become braver and more adventurous as I’ve learned that I’m safe, and I’m increasingly willing to explore beyond my favorite spots.

That said, some things never change. Give me a cozy window bed with a little sunshine pouring in, and I’m perfectly content to soak it all up. I also enjoy attention from my people, especially when I’m feeling confident enough to...
