Butters is still looking for a home of his own. Butters is completely vetted, microchipped, neutered and current on preventatives. He showed up at a home and let himself in thru the cat door and didn’t want to leave. Butters did test positive for feline fiv which can weaken the immune system a bit but does not necessarily shorten life expectancy. He should live strictly indoors in a stable social structure (cats who don’t fight; ie all spayed/neutered) and can live with other cats without transmitting the virus. (The virus is normally transmitted thru deep bites only except for mama cats passing it down to their kittens) Butters showed up to the home unneutered so probably had a scuffle with another male cat while out on the streets before finding safety inside. Fiv is NOT contagious to humans.
Butter boy currently lives peacefully with several other cats, uses a little box, and is a very sweet guy...
