About Apollo

Apollo had a family at one time. They let him go outdoors, and when they left the country on an annual trip, they left him outside. Then, one time, they just didn't come back. They had moved to another country and left Apollo alone and outdoors. Neighbors stepped up to make sure he had food and then the day came when he didn't come around to eat. He was not seen for a very long time, and when he finally showed up, he was matted, wounded and depressed. The neighbors raised enough money to take him to a veterinarian and got his wounds cared for and had him neutered. Unfortunately, they were planning to put him back outdoors so the vet reached out to a Heartland foster to see if we could take him in. Of course we said yes!

Apollo is a senior, between 10-12 years old. He was very depressed and sullen when we got him. He was ok with pets, but stayed curled up and slept. With every day, he became more open to us and within a couple of weeks he was greeting us when we came in...
